Criterion Software partners with IBM to influence Sony opt for WebSphere as enterprise standard

Criterion Software, an IBM Business Partner, was the vendor of choice for Sony Electronics’ move to web based applications.

Once a predominantly Mainframe and Powerbuilder user, Sony Electronics was keen to build and deploy a web based application that would be precursor to migrating their enterprise applications to the then emerging technology standard.

Criterion Software played a key role in determining the technology platform as a prelude to building a critical sales application that would integrate their disparate databases and applications to enable online Sales analysis and budgeting. The difference was so stark in terms of new capabilities and enhanced functionality and productivity that Criterion Software’s application framework became the basis for a large-scale application migration at Sony Electronics and WebSphere was adopted as an enterprise wide technology standard.
